Yesterday I logged on to my deviantART page and was astonished to see loads of unread comments in my inbox. It turns out that I received my first DD on the free-hand icon set. I actually made this icon set for my personal use; to theme up conky on my ubuntu desktop. Anyway I’m glad that it got DD. I'm so thankful to =eos8 for suggesting it and ^yingjunjiu for featuring it as a DD.

I don't blog very often, but certainly do try my best to b-log and entertain my self as much as possible. According to my blogging history of 2008, I have posted very few about my personal life and blogged mostly about my Art Works and Reviews of interesting new Technologies and it certainly did attract a fine traffic to my blog. So anyway, I'll try my best to post more about my personal life, more Art Works, including Photography in my future posts.

In early 2008, I followed a couple of articles on how to get traffic to personal blogs and websites. Which resulted with a fairly nice amount of traffic. However, for some reason, still 90% of my blog readers doesn't leave any track-backs. This could be due to lack of taste in my posts to them. If so please do leave a comment saying so. And I shall revise it.

Also I would like to mention about an offer I received after my blog post in 2008 about the Thomas Character Designing I did for a client. The Thomas Project was no big deal but with that blog post, I received a project that earned me a fortune, enough to buy my self a Brand New Computer System. So I guess 2008 was not that bad for me.

Updates or not, I always receive emails from many friends and readers asking for help with their blog interfaces, Designing stuffs etc. and yes I do help them with open arms. So if you think I could help you with my rookie talents, please don't hesitate to email me. And of course do subscribe for my blog updates and do leave a comment if you find anything interesting.

Today is my girl's Birth day. Happy B’ Day Swyty! She just turned 22. I couldn’t give her any special gift this year since she’s a million miles away from me. And I’m truly sad that we couldn't hook up on this special day. Anyways I have a birthday painting for her and hope it’s worth it.

I started this painting 2 days back, but couldn’t finish until now. It took me about 4,5 hrs to finish this and there are lots of mistakes since I was rushing my ass off to finish it tonight before I go to bed. But I’m pretty happy with the outcome. What about you?

There is a fantasy garden inside us all when we needs to take break from this busy world, It's so peaceful and silent, butterflies fly everywhere. It’s so quite there that we can hear the sound of the butterflies flapping their wings. Very often people get lost in this place and finally finds the way out when someone slaps on the face and say “are you day dreaming again?” :D

This is just one of the MANY ways you could do a speed painting. This way doesn't give such a smooth effect sometimes, but it's the best way to get started. Conversely, always remember to work with lots of references or your painting might end up junk. Also remember to work on grids and multi layers unless you are confident enough not to mess-up your work. I’m not sure if I’m explaining, am I? :D ok ok, Don’t worry guys. Once I’m done with my annoying US history Assignment, I’ll upload a full Tut explaining this in detail. So keep in touch.

Today I wanted to create a new Web Interface and the outcome is this. :D Unlike my Previous Web Interfaces, this time I Wanted to make it abit artistic. I guess I made my point. ;) anyway hope you'll like it. I spend more than 4hrs working on this, (about 3hrs creating its header) so please don't rip this although I'm sharing the PSD file with you. This web interface is designed specially for the Wide Screen Monitors. :)

Audee is the man behind the GRAPHIC IDENTITY Blog. He is a Graphic Designer and often writes tutorials and reviews on his Blog mostly about Photoshop & Illustrator, Digital Graphic Art, Photography, Web Design, Font or Typography.

He writes review of those who has advance skill in Art. But surprisingly he had featured my blog in his website.I never thought someone like him would feature my blog. I mean I’m an ordinary guy like most of you though I do art (drawing, painting, and designing) as a leisure activity. And trust me at first I never thought any one would admire my art works except my academy teachers and threw away 3 years of work I had saved. I made this Concept on request of a Fantasy Writer from Czech Republic, who wanted me to paint this character for a book he’s about to publish within afew months.
I had never done a character designing for a novel before. So I’m not sure if the Author of this book gonna like my one although he says it’s perfect.

The writer explains the characteristics of this illustration as follows…
1. The illustrated person is one of the main heroes in his book. He is a wind-type Elementalist ( Which is a person using elemental powers of wind ).

2. He is like 16 years old, has long light-blue (almost fading blue) hair, long enough that it covers his back.

3. His clothes are colored bright purple, he wears a long T-shirt and pants. His shoes are black and they aren't any special. (No converses, skater boots. Just simple shoes.)

4. On his face, we can see a cheesy smile. In his right hand he holds a spear with a big triangle tip. In the triangle that forms the tip of the spear is another one, which is colored in fading purple/blue.

5. He looks as if floating, and below the picture is written: ''Tomáš'' ( Czech type of the name ''Thomas'' )

Yesterday I met one of my (Sri Lankan) friends relative and we discussed about my dumping PC. Including him, I have got 2 people who are willing to buy my PC for $1500. So I guess I’ll sell it for $1500. Anyways, after we had alittle chit chat he asked me if I had a business card or something. And obviously I said I don’t.. So later I thought to design a business card and I made afew. But unfortunately it’s no need for an ordinary guy like me. But anyway I would like to share what I created with you guys. Enjoy!

Girl in Solstitialis's sketch has too short legs for my taste, and i have used a peacock as the bird nesting on her head. altogether there are 1 peacock, 1 frog, 3 butterflies,  1 chipmunk and a grasshopper. Hope you'll love it. :)
